With that said, AHSTW CSD believes that the ‘advancement’ of an athlete has serious implications for the overall participation and involvement within levels our extra-curricular activities programs. It is important to note that the following concepts are of high importance to AHSTW Community School District along with the Board of Education and are carefully considered when making a change of level decision:
- Student safety
- Treatment of student athletes by peers, teammates, and coaches
- Emotional maturity
- In addition to the physical ability to participate the student/athlete must understand the game at a level greater than peers.
AHSTW Community School District will implement a change of level process led by the head coach of their respective sport to lead our decision-making in the event a student/athlete is prepared and capable of participating on teams of higher levels of competition.
